Scania 4 Topline - Robert J. Joiner, Forfar Robert J. Joiner started the company in 1987 aged just twenty-two with an old ERF. In 1988 Joiner added his first Mercedes Benz to the fleet and continued with the German manufactured trucks until 1997 when he purchased his first Scania. The firm, based from their premises in Forfar, now have motorcycle graphics on all of their liveries. Robert J. Joiner primarily haul agricultural loads but also transport timber and equipment in the oil industry. | Volvo FH Livestock Transporter - R. I. Stamper Haulage Ltd - Kirkbride, Cumbria R. I. Stamper Haulage Ltd based in Kirkbride was established in 1950 by Richard Irving Stamper, known by most as Dick. Dick started off with one wagon, a Bedford 4 wheeler. In 2000, after half a century in the livestock transport business, Dick retired leaving a strong fleet of 25 vehicles including Scaniass, DAFs and Volvos to his son John. Scania R Fridge Trailer - Hayton Coulthard Freight Forwarding Ltd - Twynholm, Dumfries & Galloway Named after his eldest son, Peter Coulthard founded 'Hayton Coulthard in 1916, ironically Hayton was not interested in haulage and went into farming. Peter's first vehicle was a motorbike and sidecar delivering newspapers around Galloway before buying his first lorry and started collecting milk cans for a local dairy. During World War II, a percentage of lorries were commandeered from haulage firms for the war effort and to safeguard the future of the company 2nd son Jimmy, who had now taken control of the business, set up Dunmhor Transport. Jimmy died in 1959 and his son Duncan left school aged 14 to help his mother run the business, taking over complete control in 1967 and oversaw the company thrive in the 70's and 80's. Duncan Snr retired in 2000 with 4th generation Coulthard, Duncan Jnr, becoming Managing Director.
