Lucky driver Lianne McKenzie was given the rare opportunity to not only choose the make, model and specification of a new truck, she was also allowed to decide on the livery and create a personalised registration number – the end result being LM11 DAF, a Daf 510 Super Space 6×6 with manual transmission and steering mid-lift.
With a long list of extras including Durabrite alloys, alloy tanks, walnut dash, fridge, skylight lights, additional top and sun-visor bars, strobe flashing beacon bar and LED lights adorning the back of the cab, Lianne’s truck made a real impression, not just within the industry but with the general public too.
The majority of the truck’s work involves bulk tipping with the principle loads being wood pellets, wood chips and coal transported to the far north of Scotland including Wick, Thurso, Durness and Gamrie. Christie MacDonald has developed considerably during the last 16 years of business moving leaps and bounds from Christie’s first goods-carrying vehicle – a wheelbarrow!
