H.M.S. Albion (R07) was a Centaur Class Aircraft Carrier in service from May 1954 until November 1972 and was part of The Queen’s Review of the Home Fleet off Invergordon, Scotland, on 27th May 1957. The following day crewmembers from some of the ships present mustered on H.M.S. Albion for inspection by Her Majesty and H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh. With the Royal party standing in the back, and R.M. Smeeton M.B.E., Captain of H.M.S. Albion, sitting in the front passenger seat, The Ship’s Land Rover was driven slowly along the flight deck.
The Land Rover is modelled here in the livery it wore that day.
