Product Description
When launched in 1961, the Micholotti designed TR4 introduced civilizing features such as wind-up windows into the TR range, which had previously been more of a traditional sports car. Priced at 1095, the TR4 fitted neatly between its two main rivals from arch enemy BMC; the 132bhp but expensive at 1168, Austin Healey 3000 Mk2, and the beautiful, but slower and cheaper 86bhp MGA Mk2 at 963. In 1965, after 40,253 examples had been built, the TR4 received a major chassis redesign and became the TR4A. However, the body style continued almost unchanged until the TR6 was launched in 1968.
