In 1980 Kelvin Parker started his haulage business with a Bedford TK 4-wheeled rigid flatbed moving greenhouses and sheds across the UK. The following year he added a Leyland Freighter flatbed to the fleet. Thirty years on, the company which became Parker Transport (SW) Ltd in 2005 now runs a fleet of twenty vehicles comprising of mainly Scania’s. The company has twenty seven employees working in the offices and 20,000 sq ft of warehousing in Midsomer Norton, Somerset. In 2003 the company joined the FortecPallet Distribution Network, which is owned by giant French international logistics company, Geodis, enabling Parker Transport (SW) Ltd to move pallets anywhere in Europe for their customer base.
