Founded in 1932 by Gerald Knowles, Knowles Transport Limited started out carrying agricultural produce to the wholesale London markets and sugar beet from the fields to local refineries. Since then the company has greatly expanded yet is still privately owned. Gerald’s son Tony Knowles now manages the vast transport and logistics business which operates a fleet of 85 tractor units and 200 trailers that transport across the whole of the UK.
