Smiths of Bury Haulage Contractor was established in 1876 delivering coal to the cotton mills with a horse and cart. The company purchased their first truck, a Leyland, in 1923 delivering cloth to the local factories. Times may certainly have changed but the company is still thriving in its 3rd Century in business and is still in the hands of a Smith, 4th Generation Anthony.
