The Capri’s rising value among today’s collectors of classic cars reflects the fact that during the 1970s a 3.0S Capri was as much of a hero car to children of the time as any product from Maranello or Newport Pagnell, in some ways more so because the Capri was, tantalizingly, almost attainable. A whole generation of small boys grew up emulating their TV heroes in playgrounds all over Britain; kicking in imaginary doors – their weapons held high to their chests
