RVC 434H was a pilot build automatic Stag and spent its early life as a press car, featuring in road tests and magazine articles. The car’s first owner, well-known BBC presenter and journalist Clive Jacobs, kept it for some years and in the mid seventies had it refinished in black and fully converted to Mk2 specification at the Triumph factory. However, in 1979, a fuel line fault caused the car to burn out and renowned Stag specialist Tony Hart bought the salvage. He rebuilt the car to its original specification, modelled here, including the small Bakelite pre-production plate on the gearbox tunnel.
